Join us to learn about feeding our feathered friends during these chilly months, and hear about how you can participate in The Great Backyard Bird Count!
Do you enjoy feeding and watching the birds?
During the winter months when food is scarce, suet feeders can provide extra fat and nutrients for your backyard bird population. We'll learn how to make these homemade feeders from fat, grains, seeds, and nuts as well as which species they can attract before the annual Great Backyard Bird Count*.
*The Great Backyard Bird Count is a 4-day count held February 13-16, 2026. Watch birds in your backyard or anywhere else, be part of this 20+ year tradition, and help provide scientists with a snapshot of bird populations. Participate from anywhere in the world.
Each participant will take home 2 suet feeders, a handout about common birds in the area, as well as information about The Great Backyard Bird Count 2026.

Our Main Library is located in downtown Lancaster. This location features a large meeting room, as well as a board room and study room. Our children's area has an Early Literacy Center, perfect for preschool-aged children.
